Boston Celtics fans have been given a lot to worry about after seeing star big man Kristaps Porzingis exit Game 4 against the Miami Heat on Monday night. The 7-foot-2 forward/center was forced to head to the locker room just before halftime due to a non-contact leg injury.
At this point, Celtics supporters have no other choice but to hope that this issue is not as bad as initially anticipated.
Porzingis immediately signaled to the bench after feeling some sort of discomfort in his right leg as he was driving to the hoop. It did not look good:
It was revealed not long after that the initial diagnosis was tightness in Porzingis’ right calf, and that the 28-year-old is now doubtful to return to the game:

The silver lining here is that calf tightness is not exactly a terrible injury. While calf issues can prove to be tricky, the good news is at least Porzingis hasn’t suffered a more serious injury. The fact that he has not been ruled out for the remainder of the contest (at least not yet) also bodes well.
Then again, this initial diagnosis could change. The All-Star big man will likely undergo tests tonight and/or tomorrow, which should determine the extent of the problem.
Porzingis and the Celtics aren’t out of the woods just yet.
